Tadd Vassell

Tadd Vassell (he/him/his) is a passionate prisoners’ rights advocate. During his time in Hazelton, West Virginia’s Federal Correctional Complex, Tadd spent ten years developing and facilitating reentry programming. This work led to the creation of a reentry unit called Bounceback, which provides educational programming and reentry support to individuals preparing to reenter society. Tadd also spearheaded the establishment of an electrical journeyman apprenticeship program, positioning men to secure employment and livable wages upon release from prison.  As a person with lived experience in the criminal legal system, Tadd is passionate about advocating with and for citizens returning from jails and prisons and for those who remain inside.
