Rosa Cohen-Cruz


Rosa received her J.D. cum laude from Brooklyn Law School, where she was an Edward V. Sparer Public Interest Law Fellow and a Brooklyn Law Students for the Public Interest (BLSPI) Fellow. Before joining The Bronx Defenders, Rosa was a Staff Attorney, and then Senior Immigration Attorney at Prisoners’ Legal Services of New York where she managed a pilot NYIFUP program at Ulster Immigration Court in an effort to expand universal representation to incarcerated non-citizens facing removal in New York State. During law school, Rosa interned with the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the Exoneration Initiative, and the Legal Aid Society Prisoners’ Rights Project and Criminal Appeals Bureau. Rosa holds a B.A. in Sociology from Wesleyan University.
