Nicole Velazquez


Nicole graduated from Cardozo School of Law in 2015, where she was the recipient of the Cardozo Service and Achievement Award. During law school, Nicole participated in two clinics – the year-long Innocence Project Clinic, where two of her clients were exonerated, and the Mainzer Family Defense Clinic at Bronx Defenders. Additionally, she was co-chair of Cardozo’s Latin American Law Students Association, sat on the Executive Board of the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender and served as a student advocate for both the Courtroom Advocates Project and the Suspension Representation Project. Nicole spent her summer internships at the Innocence Project and the Exoneration Initiative. Prior to law school, Nicole was an after school program coordinator at Harlem RBI, a non-profit in East Harlem, and an AmeriCorps volunteer with City Year supporting the education of middle school youth. Nicole received her B.A. in English Literature from Barnard College.
