Matt Carroll


Matt received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a fellow in the Law and Public Service Program and served on the board of the Public Interest Law Association. During law school, he participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic and volunteered at the St. Lawrence County (NY) Public Defender’s Office and the New York Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice. Matt also completed summer internships at the Bronx Defenders and the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Before law school, Matt interned as an investigator for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Matt graduated summa cum laude from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey with a B.A. in Political Science and History. Before coming to the Bronx Defenders, Matt was a criminal defense attorney at Still She Rises: A Project of the Bronx Defenders, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
