Maryann Rosa


Maryann (she/her/hers) was born and raised in The Bronx and it is her passion for community work that brings her to The Bronx Defenders. She has worked in various capacities in government and community-based organizations, most recently as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO where she helped build coalitions for City and State campaigns advocating for workers’ rights. Prior to the NYC Central Labor Council, Maryann worked for the New York State Senate and focused on a range of policy issues and constituent services related to workforce development, housing, and criminal justice reform. She has extensive experience advocating for tenants in eviction proceedings and helping clients obtain wrongfully denied subsistence benefits. During her free time, Maryann volunteers as a Court Watcher in Bronx Housing Court, where she guides tenants through the process of claiming their right to legal representation. She is a Coro Fellow alumna and graduate of Fordham University.
