Julia Lake


Julia received her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Prior to joining The Bronx Defenders, she was a Poverty Justice Solutions Fellow with NYLAG’s Tenants’ Rights Unit. While in law school, she served as an executive editor for the NYU Review of Law & Social Change and was a clinic student with the Urban Justice Center’s Community Development Project. She also interned with the Legal Aid Society’s Homeless Rights Project and volunteered with the Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office (CLARO) and South Brooklyn Legal Services’ NYCHA Hearings Project. She spent her law school summers at NYLAG’s Special Litigation Unit and MFY Legal Services’ Housing Preservation Project. Prior to law school, Julia was a paralegal at the Center for Family Representation in Manhattan. She graduated with honors in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
