Danisbel Avello


Danisbel received her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law where she received the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility for her outstanding clinical work and the Peter M. Cicchino Public Service Award for her advocacy in public interest. In law school, she interned with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), Maryland Office of Public Defenders, and the Federal Communications Commission. Danisbel was also a student attorney for the Washington College of Law Civil Practice Clinic and the Senior Managing Editor for The Modern American brief. Upon graduation Danisbel served as a Law Clerk at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Following the judicial clerkship she became a Human Rights Advocate with the Fair Foods Standards Council. Danisbel graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a dual degree in Criminology and Public Relations and is a native Spanish speaker.
