Daniel Kay


Dan earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School, where he received the Bennett Douglas Bell Memorial and Damali K. Booker awards. At Vanderbilt, Dan participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic and interned at the Public Defender for Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County. He also co-founded and directed Vanderbilt’s Riverbend Insider Support and Education project, an education program for maximum-security prisoners. He spent his 1L summer with the capital habeas and trial units of the Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Tennessee, and his 2L summer at The Bronx Defenders. Dan graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College where he majored in Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought.
