Cassie Hazelip


Cassie (she/her/hers) received her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law. At CUNY, Cassie participated in the Economic Justice Project, the Family Law Practice Clinic and CLEAR. She also co-led the Housing Rights Project, was an editor of the Public Interest Practitioners Section of the CUNY Law Review, and assisted a parole applicant preparing for his hearing through the Parole Preparation Project. In law school, Cassie interned with the Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office, the Mental Hygiene Legal Service at Manhattan Psychiatric Center, and the Family Defense Practice at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. Prior to attending law school, she was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia and an outreach worker connecting with people living in homelessness in North Carolina. Cassie studied political science and international studies at the University of Michigan. She is fluent in Spanish.
