Alexandra Katz


Alexandra Katz received her J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law. While in law school, Alex represented young people in delinquency and school discipline proceedings in the East Bay Community Law Center’s Youth Defender Clinic and was a Submissions Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law. Alex was a law clerk at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem and the Bronx Defenders. Alex is also a founder and former Executive Director of the Focus Forward Project, a nonprofit that provides supportive reentry focused programming to people charged with federal crimes. She currently serves as a member of Focus Forward’s Board of Directors. Prior to law school, Alex was a paralegal at the Federal Defenders of New York. Alex holds a B.A. from Barnard College, where she was an Athena Scholar.
