News 12 Bronx: The Bronx Defenders opens a new location in Melrose

THE BRONX – A non-profit organization in The Bronx that has been helping the community for 15 years opened a new location today.

The Bronx Defenders helps more than 30,000 residents with legal cases and social work per year. In order to keep up with their clientele, the organization opened the new space on the corner of 161st Street and Courtlandt Avenue.

The mission of the group is to help Bronx residents with any legal or social problems. Immigration laws, criminal records and family problems are some examples of what the Defenders deal with every day.

The new location with its extra meeting rooms, library and staff desks will enable The Bronx Defenders to reach more people.
