Announcing our new board member: Estela Díaz, Partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP

We are very pleased to announce that Akin Gump Partner Estela Díaz has joined The Bronx Defenders’ Board of Directors.

Ms. Díaz has represented companies and individuals in a variety of criminal and regulatory investigations involving state and federal governmental authorities. In addition, Ms. Díaz has experience conducting internal investigations involving allegations of misconduct against senior executives of public companies and has litigated employment discrimination suits and putative class actions involving wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law.

Before joining Akin Gump, Ms. Díaz was a trial attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s New York District Office, where she litigated individual and class actions involving discrimination and harassment.

Ms. Díaz joins the current 11 person board of directors that oversees the finances and strategic planning of The Bronx Defenders.
